Types of PaintLatex Paint Latex paint is used in 95 percent of paint jobs. Paints such as acrylic are sturdy and withstand repeated washings. Latex finish or primer cannot be used on top of oil paint.
Oil Paint
Oil paint is for any paintable surface such as exterior metal doors, interior woodwork, or exterior metal railings. Oil tends to last longer.
